Sweet Nothings

When things felt like the places I go when I dream

When every memory was a flash and gleam

***

Back when I couldn’t catch my breath

When, I swear, your kisses could bring me back from death

Made me so nervous — no idea what to say

That’s when you used to smile and make everything okay

***

Now, you exist only in moments of fleeting daydreams

Sunny and warm on my skin

Wind whispering sweet nothings in my ear

Toes tickle in grass green

I cherish every moment, every memory, and every sweet sweet dream.

  1. How fascinating is the heart you portray; on the edge through fear, lulled into the warm dreamy space of bliss. Like a stream rushing down a fall into a still pool below. Beautiful words which speak in their silence. Blessings Peter.
