On this very Saturday night, I put on my strapless pink and white polka dot dress, matching pink heels, and dared to don the pearls.
For a moment I stood on my front porch listening to the crickets chirp and decided to join them!
I stepped up and took the stage at The Lil Blue Note 🎵
Brazenly, belting out: Maybe, by The Chantels.
Maybe, if I pray every night
You’ll come back to me.
Maybe, if I cry everyday
You’ll come back to stay.
Ohhhh, maybe…Maybe, if I hold your hand,
You will understand,
And maybe, if I kissed your lips
You’ll be at my command.
Ohhhh, maybe…I’ve prayed and prayed
To the Lord
To send you back my love,
But instead youcame to me
Only in My dreamsMaybe if I pray every night,
You’ll come back to me.
Maybe If I cry every day,
You’ll come back to stay.
Ohhhh, maybe. Maybe maybe maybe
Sometimes you just need to BELT IT OUT! Goodness gracious, that felt good! Real good! 😉
Awesome.
Great choice of song, too. One of those soul numbers that just kinda blows it all open.

“The Lil Blue Note” – so wait, did you actually perform somewhere in these pink heels and polka dot dress, or is this the name you have given to your front porch? 😄

Lol 😂 I did. Really, really.
The Lil Blue Note is a blues and jazz lounge just up the street from me. Pink is my favorite color and I rock a lot of polka dots! 😋 Ironically, you identified a quirk of mine…I name everything. My car, record player, typewriter, my house.

So you sing. And you own a record player. That’s awesome. 🙂 And the outfit sounds adorable.

Yes, I grew up singing in church. A 1920 record player with a crank and everything she’s my pride and joy (Charlotte Rose Kennedy) THANK YOU!

Underwood No. 5, that took me a while but it needs repairs, haven’t had much luck finding anyone who can do it. She’s named after my favorite poet: Emily Dickinson. What can I say, I am an old soul and I just can’t help it! 😉

Thank you! ☺️ Since Melissa asked if I performed this on my porch I decided to mitigate any future confusion by adding a picture of their sign. 😆
