I nod and smile convincingly Pretty sure I got so used to pretending That I lost sight of me. Everybody says I need to slow down, let go, take it easy But I can't because I don't know any other way to be This I am certain, this I know Nothing is ever good enough for me It's in my heart, the blood pumping in my veins, it's in my very soul I don't have a choice, I don't have control. I learn most things the hard way Father Time always makes you pay You can't change the ending just because you don't like it—Karma would say. But what shall I do? Why is life any different today?
