What Are We Made Of?

We are made of all those who have built and broken us.

Atticus

Do you agree with this quote? I think there is truth in these words. I am, in fact, comprised of bits and pieces of what he speaks of, but this does NOT mean I am solely defined by these particular bits and pieces.

  1. I don’t really agree. We have a lot influences good and bad, but how much do they really make us? How about “She conquered her demons and wore her scars like wings.”?

  2. I don’t agree completely. We many contain within ourselves fragments of those who’ve built and broken us, but we inherently come with a potential to rise above them. Like the previous comment wisely says, we may be able to conquer those fragments that don’t exactly belong to us, the ones of the “demons.” We are a product of our experiences, but we are NOT our experiences.

  3. Like mountains. Some is broken and very flawed. Some has been tried and true. And I guess every mountain has its comeliness because of each.
