What Are We Made Of?

We are made of all those who have built and broken us.

Atticus

Do you agree with this quote? I think there is truth in these words. I am, in fact, comprised of bits and pieces of what he speaks of, but this does NOT mean I am solely defined by these particular bits and pieces.

  1. I don’t really agree. We have a lot influences good and bad, but how much do they really make us? How about ā€œShe conquered her demons and wore her scars like wings.”?

  2. I don’t agree completely. We many contain within ourselves fragments of those who’ve built and broken us, but we inherently come with a potential to rise above them. Like the previous comment wisely says, we may be able to conquer those fragments that don’t exactly belong to us, the ones of the ā€œdemons.ā€ We are a product of our experiences, but we are NOT our experiences.

  3. Like mountains. Some is broken and very flawed. Some has been tried and true. And I guess every mountain has its comeliness because of each.
